HISTORY:
Long time ago, Barangay Wagdas was once a Sitio of Barangay Lourdes. During the term of former President Ferdinand Marcos in the year 1980’s, the Barangay Captain of Lourdes Mr. Marciano Villarey decided to convert Sitio Wagdas into a separate barangay from Lourdes. He chose the name “BOYOHAN” to be the name of this barangay but the people did not agree to the Barangay Captain. They later on change the name into “Wagdas”. The barangay Captain of Lourdes Mr. Villarey passed a resolution requesting that the Sitio Wagdas be converted into Barangay Wagdas, independent and separated from barangay Lourdes. It was later on passed and Barangay Wagdas became an official barangay of Pandan, Catanduanes.
The first to lead this new barangay as a Teniente Del Barrio was Mr. Guilliermo Trinidad and its development starts to grow. Barangay Wagdas is one of the coastal barangay of Pandan, located at the eastern part of the town proper. It was about twenty and a half (20.5) kilometers away from the Poblacion area.
Most of the people here were fisherman and farmers since their place is near the sea and is a mountainous place. Barangay Wagdas has improved over the years with now having many infrastructure projects like the Day Care Center, Barangay Hall, Barangay Plaza, Dike and many more.
