HISTORY:
Long time ago, there are people who lives in the mountainous area of Pandan, Catanduanes. Their place is located about twenty-nine (29) kilometers away from the town proper of Pandan. It’s a mountainous area that you have to walk through mountains in order to get there.
In the early days, there are only five families that live here. They were Salvador Frias, Jose Vicente, Justiniano Bermejo, Agropino Espiritu and Anaclito De Quiros. Hunting wild animals is one of their ways in getting food. They develop hunting equipment from what they call “Langob” and used it in catching wild animals. Later on, more people went here just to catch wild animals using “Langob” and then the place became popular and was later on called Langob.
The main source of livelihood in this place is from farming. The people decided to have a Patron Saint and they chose “San Isidro”, they chose it because “San Isidro” is also a farmer like them. Through the time, the people decided to change their name place from Langob to San Isidro in honor of their Patron Saint San Isidro.
In the year 1967, the former Mayor of Pandan Hon. Rafael Santelices declared Langob to be a Barangay and name it Barangay San Isidro because of the increasing population and household. The name Langob was still being used at present but the official name was Barangay San Isidro.
